“Learn to Dream”: our invitation to make dreams come true
Lavazza, Arsenal and London Metropolitan University together to inspire the North London community
Maria, who studies art and design. Lee, who participated in A Cup of Learning, our training program dedicated to young people looking for opportunities in the coffee industry. Their faces, their stories, have become the protagonists of the mural that, together with Arsenal and London Metropolitan University, we commissioned from the artist Gabriel Pitcher, member of the collective Wood Street Walls. With the project "Learn to Dream", born from the collaboration of our global brand Lavazza with the Club and the University, we wanted to use the power of artistic expression to inspire young people living in neighborhoods in North London to take care of their aspirations and cultivate their dreams.
"Learn to Dream" means developing optimism and creativity to nurture one’s passions, and building the skills needed to turn ambitions into reality. Just like Maria and Lee did, the protagonists of the spectacular work between the Arsenal stadium and the university headquarters, the neighborhood where they live.
Our commitment
This positive attitude is one of the principles we promote in our commitment to social and environmental sustainability, Blend for Better, and in our support for the United Nation’s sustainable development goals, including Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 8 (Decent work and economic growth).
“Learn to Dream is just one of our initiatives to inspire the younger generation and encourage them to pursue a better future. We did so by starting from the A Cup of Learning program, which will be further expanded in 2023, together with Arsenal and London Metropolitan University, with other projects that encourage the progress of the local community”, stresses Pietro Mazzà, Regional Director UK & Nordics and General Manager Lavazza UK.
A commitment well embodied by this work of art dedicated to all people walking around the neighborhood: from those who live in this area to students at the university and fans who can all admire the mural of over 1,800 square meters painted in front of the entrance to the stadium. Maria and Lee’s paintings are linked to the "Smartify" application, which allows you to scan a QR code to access other inspirational stories of people living in this neighborhood.
To remind us to never to stop dreaming.
