“Promotion and protection of human rights, environmental protection and business ethics are fundamental principles that have always guided our Group’s procurement policy. We are proud of this recognition that has been made possible thanks to the sharing of values and the joint commitment of employees and collaborators, together with representatives of our supply chain,” commented Mario Cerutti, our Chief Institutional Relations and Sustainability Officer.
The commitment to social and environmental sustainability involves all our stakeholders: EcoVadis is the external system that we have adopted since 2020 to monitor the sustainability performance of our suppliers and propose improvement plans for the environment, human rights, ethics and sustainable supply.
By sending out tailor made questionnaires based on specific indicators (number of workers, country of origin and sector) and the responses received, suppliers are awarded a general score on the performance of the company and a specific ranking related to sustainability issues. Using the EcoVadis platform, we then assess areas of risk in the supply chain in order to work towards continuous improvement.
Among the pillars on which the evaluation by EcoVadis experts is based, the sections on Environment and Sustainable Supply, together with the section on Work and Human Rights, are those that have contributed most to the achievement of this important result.
