Our commitment to promoting the visual arts and design continues with our participation in the Biennale Architettura 2025 – “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.”, curated by architect and engineer Carlo Ratti. We’re participating in the event as a donor to the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia and as a supporter of three installations: "The Third Paradise Perspectiveby the non-profit Pistoletto Cittadellarte Foundation, and the “Canal Café” and “Voice of Commons” projects.

Golden Lion Award to the Canal Café project

The Canal Café project, which we support, has won the prestigious Golden Lion award for best participation in the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale.

Created by a multidisciplinary team including the New York-based design firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, chef Davide Oldani, technical experts from Natural Systems Utilities and SODAI, and architecture critic Aaron Betsky, Canal Café is a water phytoremediation project using a hybrid system of natural and artificial purification. It aims to reflect on the significant challenge of freshwater recovery.

“The Third Paradise Perspective” installation

“The Third Paradise Perspective” by the non-profit Pistoletto Cittadellarte Foundation opens the Biennale Archittetura 2025 with an immersive and symbolic installation: a flooded room representing the water level forecast for Venice in 2100, crossed by a passageway shaped like the symbol of the Third Paradise created by artist Michelangelo Pistoletto. It’s a space created to make people think about climate change and collective responsibility, crucial elements for building a sustainable future. The Third Paradise takes the form here of a horizon of new and concrete possible solutions.

The panel

We promoted the “Intelligens for Urban Regeneration” panel as an opportunity to discuss the architecture of our Group’s headquarters, Nuvola Lavazza designed by architect Cino Zucchi, and the role it plays in urban regeneration in Turin. A multi-voiced story with Group Board Member Francesca Lavazza, Carlo Ratti, Cino Zucchi and Francesca Molteni, moderated by Professor Valerio Paolo Mosco.

The panel discussion also provided an opportunity to preview the docufilm “NUVOLA”, based on an idea by Virginio Briatore and Francesca Molteni and directed by Luca Caon.

The documentary

Seven years after the official opening and 130 years since our company was founded, a documentary film tells the story of the architectural design of Nuvola Lavazza and its relationship with the Aurora district and the city of Turin.

Today, Nuvola is a multi-faceted space populated by relationships, where ideas and new energy flow together, open to the world and focused on the future. The film tells its story, narrated by Cino Zucchi, taking the audience on a journey through the project, featuring contributions from key figures who have left a mark on the history of our company and our Group. The documentary Nuvola will also be featured in the “Inequalities” exhibition at the Triennale Milano, from 12 May.
