The neat queue at the entrance. The bright green of the fields. The legendary strawberries with cream. The candid white of the players suits. The gates of the most famous tournament in the world of lawn tennis reopen and we return, with our global brand Lavazza, to support fans of this sport, confirming our collaboration born more than ten years ago with Wimbledon. To offer a unique experience that combines tradition, passion for excellence and rituality, dedicated to all fans who will populate the historic stands of the English tournament.

It is an event that we feel particularly close, for the passion that binds us to the world of tennis and all its most prestigious international competitions, those of the Slam circuit and the Nitto ATP Finals. A partnership inaugurated right on the grass of the English tournament back in 2011, shortly after the introduction of the retractable roof that can cover the legendary Centre Court in case of rain. Since then, we have served over ten million Lavazza coffees, accompanying the most exciting moments of world tennis.

For the entire duration of the competition, until July 16, for those who will not be in the stands to watch the matches, we invite them a stone’s throw from Regent Street, at our Flagship Store, to follow at a distance the matches accompanied by the aromas and taste of the authentic Italian espresso and all our specialties.

The history of our commitment

Not only an ideal reference to witness our passion for excellence, but tennis is also the perfect platform to tell our commitment toward sustainability, Blend For Better, as reported by the numbers of a production every year increasingly sensible to environmental and social issues.

The latest sustainability report of our Group, for example, reports the investment of 25 million euros for the Sustainable Packaging Roadmap, and highlights that most of the coffee we produce (98%) is now made with renewable energy, 89% of the waste generated in our production facilities is recovered and recycled. We carry on our commitment to a more sustainable future thanks also to our Foundation, through measurable projects that today benefit over 180,000 coffee growers, thanks to 33 programs developed in 20 different countries. And it was from one of these initiatives that La Reserva De ¡Tierra! Colombia was born, a unique blend protagonist during the breaks between the matches of Wimbledon and made of coffee from the Meta region, where the Lavazza Foundation supports more than one hundred families of farmers, for the restoration of coffee plantations that had been lost in the years of the FARC guerrilla.

The bond with sport in the UK

The partnership with the Wimbledon tournament is part of a wider activity that sees us alongside high-level sporting events in the UK. With our global brand Lavazza, we are also partners of the Royal Ascot, the most famous and ancient horse race in the world, and with the female and male football teams of the Arsenal, to extend to fans of other disciplines the unique experience of the true Italian espresso.
