I’m very proud to being sharing this, my first new year message as Chairman of Lavazza Group.
The management succession from the 3rd to the 4th generation of our Family was completed last year and fully endorsed the Group’s business model, which has been inspiring our every action for over a century.
During the 15-year long chairmanship of Alberto Lavazza, now Honorary Chairman, we have seen the transformation of the company into an international multi-brand group thanks to a long-term and inclusive vision that has enabled us to expand in over 140 countries, moving into new markets and consolidating existing ones. A journey undertaken with courage and foresight that has delivered constant growth accompanied by a strong focus on the human and environmental dimensions.
The insights he brought to the definition of a new governance structure tailored to our current challenges can now be seen to have marked a strategic turning point, ushering in a phase of strong expansion in which we achieved some highly important goals. It’s now the task of the 4th generation to steer the evolution of this enterprise with energy and sense of direction.
In 2024, we will be busy celebrating the first 20 years of the Lavazza Foundation, which was set up to co-operate with communities at work in the countries where we operate. The Foundation continues to be a strategic beacon and an engine of innovation for our Group in its approach to sustainability on all fronts. Through collaboration with a vast network of partners, the Foundation’s activities are concrete examples of the positive change we are constantly striving for and reflect the company’s values and strategic thinking.
2024 will be another difficult year conditioned by the ongoing and complex geopolitical, economic and inflatory situation of the raw material. But we will rise to these new challenges with the tenacity and pragmatism that mark us out, without compromising on quality, principles and values.
I wish to thank all the people who put their professionalism, passion and skills at the service of this success, and also all those who choose our products and the quality of our brands every day.
